Life's plans seem to be generally the same for most around the world. We all develop goals that we work towards, people we care about, a sense of reason to be. And in-between it all, we like to have sex.
Sometimes, it seems, people in even the most undesirable of situations seem to have a lover by their side, or even the most unlikely candidates have a particular other half. Even Hitler had someone who adored him; it seems to be the nature of the world. But one of those phenomenon's that defy the very logic of the Earth, is sex and the city.
Most people who live in the city aren't there by accident. They have deliberately gone to school, started a good career, and then, having failed to settle down, decided to just buy that condo by the water. The city can be a playground for singles, so it's no wonder that, as hard as it is to land that big executive position, it is just as hard to find a compatible mate.
But, why would it be so? In a concrete world with as dense a population as we have, it seems all it has to offer in the dating department are men that are just that; dense. So, putting on my journalist shoes for the day, (a pair of high-heeled wingtip shoes, for that professional effect) I asked some of the city's most eligible bachelors for their two-cents. Here's what I could find:
"I'm not looking for anything serious," says one city-trekker, who's been in the dating scene fo a cool 7-years. "It's hard to find a woman who can work around my schedule. I'd rather just have casual sex."
And, is that really the problem? Do woman remain single because their desired mates are too busy bringing home the bacon - even if the home's empty? If so, it would seem like the search is futile. Who isn't working a full-time job to make ends meet? Who does have the time to keep going on first-dates? When does it all get to be too much? But, it's not all fruitless. Maybe dating your last co-worker didn't end up so well, or that guy you met in the subway turned out to be odd The fact is, we are all busy and we all have limited free-time, but we can all only hope that we find someone who's willing to use all of that up on you.
